In 2022, Savola Foods achieved remarkable sales volumes, totaling 1.8 million tons in the edible oil and fats category, 1.35 million tons in sugar, 0.2 million tons in pasta, and 0.03 million tons in other categories.
Savola Foods enhanced its strength in the bakery segment by acquiring bakery assets in Egypt and expanding its portfolio with snack bakery products. Furthermore, it has laid the groundwork for regional distribution of products such as nuts, spices, and legumes. To diversify into healthier product categories, it has introduced high-protein, keto-friendly, and low-calorie snacks. Additionally, Savola Foods has launched new products within the B2B segment and created a dedicated platform named "Savola Professional," consolidating its B2B initiatives across various markets.
Yudum is Turkey’s leading and most recognized brand in the retail liquid oil sector. In 2008, it was acquired by Savola Gıda San. ve Tic. A.Ş, a company which operates extensively in the food industry in 15 different countries. Yudum moved its first manufacturing plant from Istanbul to Ayvalık in 1974. The plant’s operations, which were originally focused on olive oil and soap production, were extended in 1985 to the production of Yudum sunflower seed oil and all other categories of liquid oil.
The plant produces Turkey’s most preferred liquid oil brands and is a trailblazer in many sectors in its category, and it has diversified its production portfolio with value added, innovative products. It is Turkey’s largest-capacity liquid oil plant in terms of installed capacity and product diversity.
With the completion of its margarine production facility in 2018, the manufacturing plant located in Ayvalık has become one-of-its-kind with one of the biggest physical premises in the Middle East. Having started to operate in all oil-related sectors, the plant has been successfully producing leading products that capture the needs of today’s world, with its long-standing experience, meticulous attention to detail and a customer-oriented approach. The production facility is built on 106 acres of land with an indoor area of 24.000 m². With 4 (four) refineries, it enables independent production of sunflower and other liquid oils as well as olive oil and margarine, and using state of the art equipment, the plant has one of the largest capacities of its kind in Turkey in terms of filling and packaging operations. With a total of 650 tons per day refining and 250.000 tons per year filling capacity, it also has one of the largest installed capacities in Turkey and one-of-a-kind product diversity.
With its current tank park and the production areas that are designed in full compatibility with quality standards, the plant continues its manufacturing operations 24 hours/day. The facility has room for a total of 7.700 pallets of stock and is equipped with smart shelving systems controlled through custom made software. The plant’s loading capacity is 45 vehicles per day and all forklifts used for this purpose are electrically powered as per the company’s environmental policy.
